4-rth sustainable fashion is excited to hear that Google will invest $280 Million in an American company named SolarCity. The investment will be used to put Solar Powered rooftop panels on about 9,000 homes. This alone will increase the total # of households using solar power by about 10% to 90,000 homes. As 4-rth mentioned in a previous blog, it takes only 8 MINUTES for the Sun to deliver the planet's entire energy need! Apparently, the biggest impediment to "installed" solar power on rooftops has been the upfront cost.SolarCity absorbs this cost & then leases the solar panels to the homeowner at a price that would be less than their electricity bill. Everybody wins, especially the environment!
