Founder Douglas Donehoo started 4-rth in 2009 with one idea: comfortable, sustainable clothing made in Los Angeles at a fair price. Sixteen years later, every piece is still designed, cut, sewn and dyed locally, in the Fashion District of Downtown LA, by people paid fair wages. We work in small batches from Modal made from sustainably harvested birch trees. That is why some colors sell out, and why the pieces that make it to you last for years.

Modal feels softer and cooler on the skin than most polyester blends. It breathes well, drapes rather than clings, and keeps its color and shape through regular washing.
How does 4-rth sizing compare?
4-rth uses a tapered, form-fitting cut. A Medium fits about 6'1" and 170 lbs for the model look. If you are between sizes, have a heavier build or prefer a relaxed fit, go up one size. Each product page has a measurement chart, including the Eco-Track Pant, 4/5 Capri and Long Jogger size charts.

How do I wash Modal activewear?
Wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors and hang to dry or tumble dry low. Skip fabric softener so the fibers stay breathable. Check the care label on each garment for specifics, or see our FAQ.
